Esme is a beautiful Russian blue mix. She and her babies (Henri, Jolie, and Elle, were was rescued from a hoarding situation (a mobile home with 40+ cats inside), and was already a young mom at about 9 months old. She took good care of her 3 kittens (gray like her) but as soon as they were weaned she was ready to be a kitten again herself. She can be wildly playful, but also enjoys looking at the window at the world. She probably didn’t eat well or often in the past, which can happen in situations where there are lots of cats and not enough food), so she can be nervous about getting enough to eat. But she’s been nothing but sweet and loving to her foster family. She has a lovely voice that she doesn’t use often, and enjoys human companionship. She would also be fine as an only cat in a home where she can get lots of attention and introduced to toys and interactive play. Although she was around other cats originally, she was prepared to defend her kittens from strange adult cats in the foster home. But now that the kittens are older, she is more comfortable with the friendlier cats in the house. We think she’d be fine other cats following a proper introduction, unsure about dogs. She would be fine to adopt with one of her babies, but would need extra play time with her adopter until her baby is big enough to keep up with her. Esme is negative for feline leukemia and aids, had her first distemper and the rabies vaccines, been wormed, had advantage for fleas, and been vet checked and spayed. Through our application and interview process, we strive to make the 'purrfect' match to insure a loving, lifelong home for those in our care. Our adoption fee varies based on the age and breed of the cat. The fee includes testing for feline leukemia and aids, the series of distemper vaccines, the rabies vaccines, wormings, advantage so they are flea free when you take them home, a veterinary exam, and the spay or neuter. Microchipping is available for an additional $45. The adoption fee is waived for qualifying adopters interested in one of our sponsored cats.Shelter locationAt this time we are not attending adoption fairs. To adopt, we ask that you first complete an application (email XXXX@tds.net to request and indicate the cat(s) of interest). Approved applications will be allowed to meet the cat in a home environment. Completing the application does not obligate you to adopt.
